Your section provides a number of opportunities to expand your knowledge and gain recognition through certifications.

We are planning for our 2012 training courses. Please Register now. In order to be able to put on a certification course we need at least 5 people registered.

Courses are lead by volunteer instructors as such we need the minimum amount of students before we can schedule the course. Course prices and descriptions can be found below.Volunteer course instructors are also required. You may contact our Education chair using the registration form comments area for all inquiries.

Certification is provided by ASQ and you must determine if you are eligible to take the exam prior to registering for these courses as well as register with ASQ to take the exam. If you need assistance in determining whether you can qualify please contact the Education chair using the registration form comments area. Course price does NOT include exam registration or any guarantee of passing or being eligible to write the exam. These are the responsibility of the individual and must be obtained through ASQ.

Preparation Courses for ASQ Certification Exams

All our preparation courses are designed based on the appropriate Body of Knowledge (BoK). In addition, they are offered with a Warranty Clause that will allow participants to attend the next available session of the same course for free in case they did not pass the exam in the first attempt.

Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)

The Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence is a professional who leads and champions process-improvement initiatives — everywhere from small businesses to multinational corporations — that can have regional or global focus in a variety of service and industrial settings.

Training course for CMQ/OE Certification.
Start Date - 4 January 12.
Duration - 8 weeks

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

The Certified Quality Engineer is a professional who understands the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control.

Cost of the preparation course: $750 + HST Course duration: 11 weeks (3 hours per session)

Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE)

The Certified Software Quality Engineer understands software quality development and implementation, software inspection, testing, verification and validation; and implements software development and maintenance processes and methods.

Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

The Certified Quality Auditor is a professional who understands the standards and principles of auditing and the auditing techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating and reporting to determine a quality system’s adequacy and deficiencies.

General Information

The refresher courses are offered by the section to members and non ASQ members for the same fee. As a non member the exam fees charged by ASQ are much higher than for ASQ members. Becoming an ASQ member will save you money when you write the exam.

Generally our courses are offered to coincide with the exam writing schedule, with the completion of the course timed for the week prior to the writing of the exam.

Payment for the refresher courses can be made either by cheque or by credit card. An invoice will be sent via email which will confirm that the course will be offered. See the Payment page for the details. Payment is required on or before the first day of the course. Other arrangements can be made by contacting the Treasurer

Cancellation or refunds after the payments have been made will be subject to cancellation fees. Please contact the Treasurer for more information.

Certification courses are also offered by ASQ in Toronto.
