The ASQ Canada Ottawa Valley Section 407 Education Committee (EDCOM) is composed of volunteer quality practitioners who firmly believe in the personal, professional and community benefits of actively promoting the advancement of quality and excellence. Promote cooperation among Canadian business, government, and schools to:

* Provide learning opportunities, and

* Participate in creating awareness of emerging technology and its social and technical elements

Goals

The 407 EDCOM's mission is enacted through the following goals:

* Recognize and practice quality principles and values as reflected through our products, services, internal processes and interactions with people

* Stay abreast of current and anticipated needs for education in quality

* maintain an information service to keep the Ottawa Valley community aware of educational opportunities in quality

* Collaborate with local institutions and other professional organizations to ensure that educational needs for quality-related topics, not otherwise available, are provided for

* Provide local facilities for ASQ certification exams

* Liaise with other ASQ committees and sections to provide education events including clinics, seminars, courses and conferences.
