Product Quality Specialist

We hope you are interested in joining our team as we are currently in search of a Product Quality Specialist.

In this role you will be responsible for providing product quality support to our portfolio of released products. You will be supported by a talented group of individuals in our Quality organization and you will have the opportunity to work with all levels of our Operations team. You will also be a key interface with our suppliers, ensuring products flow smoothly through our supply chain. Quality is core component of DNA Genotek’s mission and value statement and this position will have visibility and support across all organizations and leadership levels within company.

Additionally you will:
• Be responsible for the product configuration and quality documentation set, including procurement specifications, data sheets, bills of material, etc.
• Prepare controlling documentation and support frequent builds at contract manufacturers of product customized from standard configuration.
• Support prototype and other pre-production builds at sub-contractors.
• Support the change management process for released products.
• Provide supplier quality support: non-conformances, corrective and preventative actions, supplier audits.
• Provide manufacturability input into the new product introduction process.
• Aid in Continuous Improvement: maintain metrics, investigate undesirable trends, perform root cause analysis, develop and implement corrective and preventative actions.

Education Required:
• College certificate in a science or engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant job experience, training and knowledge.

Experience and Other Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years experience in a technical role in a manufacturing environment (preferably Medical Device)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to work with a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities.
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Experience with quality tools, auditing, quality management systems (ISO 13485:2003) and quality system regulations (Health Canada, FDA).
• Experience working with external suppliers an asset.
• Experience using Product Data Management software tool to manage product configuration an asset.
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications
