Quality Inspector
Department: Quality Assurance
Location: Billet Precision Ltd, Ottawa
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Shift
Salary: $15.00 to $22.00 hourly for 40 hours per week
Billet Precision is a high-end machine shop looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to further ensure the high quality of our manufactured products. We pay competitive wages, group insurance benefits, RRSP benefits and quarterly profit sharing.
Qualifications
• 2+ years related experience in manufacturing, quality or equivalent experience in a company that manufactures, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of high school / college / CEGEP / vocational or technical training.
• Leadership skills.
• Computer literate.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Understanding of use and application of standards such as ISO 9001:2008.
• Experience in programming CNC CMM‘s using Mitutoyo CAT. Software.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and program a CNC CMM, laser Micrometer, vision system, form tracer, manual CMM, various types of inspection equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
• Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
• Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
• Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication.
• Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing.
• Significant use of memory, finding information, Computer use.
• Continuous learning.
